Dance and Garba classes in Odhav, Nikol, Vastral and Naroda
Short answer
My studio is at Rajendra Park, Odhav, and I teach across east Ahmedabad, including Nikol, Vastral, Naroda and Bapunagar. There are no fixed batches: group dance and Garba classes are arranged on request once you have a group, and private coaching, competition training and wedding choreography are available at home, at the studio or online.
If you searched for “dance classes near me” from Odhav, Nikol or Vastral, you have probably found studios with fixed batches at fixed times. I work differently, and I would rather be clear about that up front so you know exactly what is available before you message me.
What I offer in east Ahmedabad
I am Shruti Prajapati, a choreographer based in Odhav. I have been choreographing professionally since 2022, and I teach Garba, Raas, Bollywood, Gujarati folk, classical (Bharatanatyam and Kathak) and contemporary fusion. Here is what you can book:
- Group dance classes on request. There are no regular batches. When you bring a group, such as friends, family, your housing society or your office, I arrange classes for you. Kids and adults are both welcome, in Bollywood, Garba or folk.
- Private one-on-one coaching. Any age and any level, at your home, at the studio or online. More on the private coaching page.
- Garba classes. Traditional Garba and Raas for families and groups, on request, plus Navratri Garba workshops. See Garba classes.
- Competition training. Solo, duo and group routines for school, college, regional and national competitions. See competition training.
- Wedding and sangeet choreography. Bride, groom, couple and family dances, with home visits across east Ahmedabad.
- Online classes. If you live outside Ahmedabad, or simply prefer it, private coaching works online from anywhere.
No fixed batches: what that means for you
You will not find a timetable of open batches here. If you are on your own, private coaching is the way to start. If you have a few people who want to learn together, you can form your own group and the classes are planned around your group's ages, style and schedule.

Home visits suit families, societies and wedding groups who want to practise in their own space. The studio suits people who want a dedicated practice room. Online suits private coaching when travel is not practical.
How to start a group dance or Garba class
Group classes begin when you bring the group. It is simple:
- Gather your people. Friends, cousins, neighbours in your society, colleagues at work, or a group of kids from the same building.
- Decide the basics. Roughly how many people, their ages, and which style you want: Bollywood, Garba or folk.
- Choose a place. Your society hall, a home, your office or the Odhav studio.
- Message me on WhatsApp with your group size, ages, style and area. I will reply with available days, timings and fees.

Private coaching for one person
If you want to learn alone, private coaching is the right fit. It works for children, adults and anyone returning to dance after a long break. Sessions happen at your home, at the studio or online, and the pace is set around you. It is also a good option for a bride or groom who wants extra practice on a solo before the wedding.
Which option is right for you?
Most people who message me fit one of these situations. If you are not sure, describe what you want on WhatsApp and I will suggest the right option.
- “My child wants to learn dance.” Start with private coaching, or group a few children from your building or society into a class.
- “Our society wants to learn Garba before Navratri.” Book Garba classes or a Navratri Garba workshop for the group, at your society or the studio.
- “I have a school or college competition.” Competition training, solo, duo or group, with a routine built for the event.
- “Our office has an annual day.” Group choreography for corporate events, set around your team's schedule.
- “There is a wedding in the family.” Wedding and sangeet choreography, with fixed prices per dance.
Wedding choreography in east Ahmedabad
For weddings, prices are fixed per dance: Solo ₹2,500, Couple ₹3,500 and Group ₹3,500. Each dance includes 10–12 days of training in 1.5–2 hour sessions at your home or the Odhav studio, plus practice recordings so everyone can rehearse in between. Four or more performances get a discount, and the final price may change with practice hours and the number of days. Full details are on the wedding choreography page.
For classes, private coaching, competition training and corporate events, fees depend on your group and schedule, so I share them on WhatsApp.
